Trailblazer Barrel Details Trailblazer’s tightly ringed nose leads to a slim area of the dart's signature grip, axial milled to a planed area to reduce reflections. A simple ring sits between this and the alternated shark fin grip area that serves as a reference point. From here you will find the more extensive area of the revolver grip comprised of 3 rings and six radial millings that resemble a gun barrel. The rear section of the barrel features a stacked shark grip, again enhanced by axial milling to create grip and the push point of the barrel. The Trailblazer finishes with a smooth tail section that leads into two ring cuts, a good reference point for anyone throwing from the back of the dart. Also available in Steel Tip.	Trailblazer Dart Flight Our dart sets are finished with tough and durable 100 Micron (Extra Thick) flights, which feature distinctive designs that are hand drawn by our in- house design team. Standout graphics echo each individual dart theme perfectly. Our dart flights are in small standard sizing, which provides maximum lift and stability of the dart when it is in flight.	Eagle Claw Shaft Shot Darts Eagle Claw shafts are manufactured from a tough and durable polycarbonate material with a 2BA thread. The deep cut in the shaft ensures your flight can be pushed well down into the slot which means a greater contact surface. Shafts are fitted with additional ring to ensure a tight fit between flight and shaft during play and feature Eagle Claw icon. In-between sized (39mm) shafts give good balance to the flight of the dart and ensures that it will hit the board at an optimum angle. A complimentary balance between control and stability is what makes the In-between shaft so popular among players.	Trailblazer Soft Tip Point 2BA Premium Lippoints (soft tip points) offer high quality and durability. These tips have a texture applied and also feature additional finger grip patterns at base of the tip. This will help overall to prevent bounce outs which means you'll be able to spend more time enjoying your game! Soft tip darts have a threaded nose on the barrel, so the points can be easily replaced as often as you need to. Simply un-screw the used tip and replace.

Our good looking, high-performance new generation darts are the result of nearly 50 years’ experience, and more than a million barrels. They’ve been tested where it counts, by players, refined, then tested again. Our darts are designed and manufactured at our factory in New Zealand and each dart runs a gauntlet to bear the Shot Darts name. Original concepts are hand-drawn and then transferred to CAD (Computer Aided Design) software. The software identifies the cuts and grooves to be applied to the dart and determines the weight, balance point, length and tungsten percentage.

Tungsten 101

Tungsten is used in darts production because of its high weight to volume ratio. It resists wear and allows barrels to be slimmer, for tighter groupings, while maintaining the weight of the dart. It has the highest melting point of all metals, is more resistant to fracturing than diamond and much harder than steel. It is often sintered together with other metals, such as iron and nickel but, simply put, the higher the percentage of tungsten, the better the dart.

Production Story

Each dart starts in tungsten billet form, before being threaded and drilled, to ensure it’s the right length and weight. It’s then put through a CNC machine to profile cut the body. This can take up to 10 minutes for a more complicated, higher end barrel - or half an hour per set.From here, the barrel might be coated in either titanium nitrate or Shot’s own PCT coating, which determines its colour, re-machined for additional profiling, and then laser etched before being pointed and packed. Some of our more complex darts might go through eight or nine different processes!
