Which style is best for use in Law Enforcement or the Military?

We find that most people in law enforcement or in the military tend to prefer either the Y-style or the Original (straight) style rather than the Stirrup (loop) style. Partly this is having the loop under your foot, partly its that the other styles also hold your socks up, and partly perhaps that if your pants are shorter or as you move the stirrup style might be seen under the uniform in the gap between the top of your shoe and bottom of your pants.
