How it works: The 100% pure polypropylene fiber mesh material when formed into its 3D multi-layered structure, has a natural valence energy that attracts and latches onto many larger size airborne particles like dust, dirt and other common allergens like pollen, ragweed and pet dander, as well as many smaller PM2.5 aerosol particles that are common to the air we breath.

Airwirl’s novel 3D electrostatic filter also creates a diffused airflow pattern that helps facilitate coagulation or aggregation of microscopic airborne particles, making these charged particles more susceptible to adhesion and containment to both the PP filter and water vapor. As some of these smaller airborne particles make their way through the electrostatic filter and make contact with the ice and cold water surfaces inside the Airwirl, these particles adhere to the chilled water droplets like “dust to a damp cloth”, enabling the air to exit with significantly fewer large and smaller airborne contaminants.

The Airwirl utilizes a 94% effective “air scrubber” means to help purify the air we breath, with a compact air purifier and cooling system that behaves more like the “natural effects of rain” after a storm, when it effectively removes dust and dirt from the atmosphere.

Unlike conventional HEPA and carbon filters systems that may offer a slightly higher level of small particle filtration (99.9% vs 94%) those filters must be replaced often to help keep their operation “clean and odor free”, and to avoid bacteria and mold growth in the presence of moisture. Frequent replacement of conventional HEPA filters are required to help avoid the “stale smelling” air commonly found with expired carbon and HEPA filters. This improved air quality is a result of microscopic airborne particles channeling 1st through a proprietary electrostatic filter, then circulating inside an “ice field” surrounded by water condensation droplets. When smaller PM 2.5 particles begin to coagulate and aggregate together, they readily bind to the wet “oxygen and hydrogen” charged surfaces of ice and water, and no longer remain airborne.

When ice has fully melted, the entrapped particles are removed by pouring out the chilled water contents.
