TASCAM’s Celesonic US-20x20 packs 20 channels of analog and digital I/O into a single rackspace with great sounding preamps and USB 3.0/2.0 connectivity. Eight Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps provide 56dB of gain and high headroom to make microphones sound their best. Up to ten channels of digital I/O are included on ADAT and S/PDIF connectors, with word clock also provided for use with external clocks like TASCAM’s CG-1000. MIDI I/O allows use with controllers and synthesizers, and sample rates up to 192kHz/24-bit are supported.

The TASCAM Celesonic US-20x20 is the first USB 3.0 interface to use class-compliant drivers for future-proof use with computers and tablets. A built-in DSP mixer includes parametric EQ and compression on every channel and a stereo reverb send for great-sounding monitor mixes. The DSP mixer can also be used as a live mixer or submixer with computer control. The US-20x20 has three operation modes – audio interface, digital mixer, and 8-channel digital mic preamp –for maximum flexibility.

TASCAM has achieved an EIN rating of -125 dBu (EIN is a value measurement of the absence of noise). The preamps have over 20dB of headroom, well above competing interfaces. This headroom is especially helpful on high SPL sources like drums and guitars.	Direct Inputs for Guitar and Bass Two instrument-level inputs are provided for direct input of guitar or bass. Make the most of guitar effect plug-ins, such as the TH2 effect that is included with Cakewalk SONAR. [Note] Guitar effect plug-ins and DAW software are sold separately. Camp Jam Rocks Out with TASCAM US-20x20

Musicians who grew up before Camp Jam came along can only wish we had been luckier. Available as a five-day summer day camp and as a six-day overnight camp, Camp Jam gives kids and teens the chance to learn from and perform with professional musicians. The curriculum includes songwriting, instrumental instruction, playing in a band, studio production, and making a music video. More than 20,000 students have benefitted from Camp Jam in the past ten years.

TASCAM is a proud sponsor of Camp Jam, and the TASCAM US-20x20 audio/MIDI interface has become a key tool for the camp's recording and performance programs. "I love the TASCAM US-20x20," enthuses Camp Jam Vice President of Operations Steve Freeman. "Our program includes a recording and songwriting camp where the campers write a song together and record it using the US-20x20 as the recording interface. We like that the US-20x20 has built-in mixing and compression, and EQ on every channel, so we can create monitor mixes with processing, which is huge! Camp Jam's National Recording Director Charles Powell points to the US-20x20's flexibility as another major benefit. "The US-20x20 is the most versatile piece of gear I can imagine," Powell insists. "It has combo inputs on the front so we can plug in mics, guitars, or line-level signals from keyboards, which is super flexible. And with word clock and ADAT I/O, it can be integrated into a larger system."

Because of the ADAT I/O, Camp Jam uses the US-20x20 as an expansion module for concerts, in addition to its main role as a studio interface. "Every camp has a live concert on Fridays," explains Freeman. "We have a recording system set up but we often need more mic preamps. The US-20x20's ADAT I/O and Mic Preamp Mode let us quickly connect it to add eight more mic preamps. And it sounds great! TASCAM's Ultra-HDDA mic preamps are very clean."
