This skirt is handmade by women in Amatenango, Chiapas- a small town surrounded by a valley covered with cornfields. The women in the communities use their available time at home to embroider and woven, they use a technique called rococo to create unique designs of the region. It usually comes in very thin and soft cotton, then hand make every detail including the seams of the sides. The combinations of the fabric and thread colors are unique, this makes it uniquely charming and distinct from factory-made clothing.

We believe that by empowering women is not only grow themselves, but their family and whole community.
