PADDLE IN PEACE.
“Back when SUP first started as a sport, we were all just a bunch of kooks,” says Rob. “We were just trying to do something fun when the waves were flat. And even though it’s nice how far it’s come, sometimes I still miss those days.”
In a surf scenario, a straight leash is the way to go because a coil is going to stretch too far, get tangled and be dangerous. For racing or touring, a coil leash is nice because it’s short and out of the way, so there’s no drag. The hybrid is good for surf racing, where it’s straight but also a bit out of the way…cause sometimes with a full coil you do a pivot turn and get all tangled up.
