How Sour Punch Candy Is Made
Sour Punch products start out similar to any other candy, with a simple mix of sugar, flour, corn syrup and water in giant kettles. Each kettle batch weighs around 1,500 pounds. The ingredients are mixed to a perfect consistency and the color and flavor is added. The batch heats up to 170 degrees and pumped into a cooker to remove excess moisture. Once the moisture level is correct, the candy gets extruded out onto an incline belt. From there, the candy takes a ride through a cooling tunnel, and chilled down to around 70 degrees. Next, the candy is steamed and sandblasted with our mouth-puckering sweet and sour signature blend. After the sweet and sour shower, the candy is cut to length and packaged for delivery.
