Microban Product Protection at Work Our testing was performed under controlled laboratory conditions according to AATCC 100 protocol using untreated filter media and filter media with MICROBAN antimicrobial protection. The bacterial population on the untreated media increased significantly while bacterial growth on the media with MICROBAN protection was reduced significantly. MICROBAN inhibits the growth of microbes that effect your filter media.	High Quality Filter Media Our Platinum filters utilize a high quality electrostatic MERV 12 filter media. This filter features a mini-pleat design that helps trap the maximum amount of airborne pollutants. The electrostatically charged fibers are capable of trapping microscopic allergens smaller than 1 micron!	Filter Design Because this filter utilizes a mini-pleat design the pleats are smaller and tighter together. Because of the tighter pleats this filters media does not contain a wire backing for support. Instead the pleated media pack is bonded to the inside of a two piece frame to prevent the bypass of contaminated air. The frame is constructed of heavy duty, moisture resistant clay coated board and is designed with diagonal and horizontal grid support members. This design ensures that the filter does not crumple or bend when in use.
