About Meinl Stick & Brush

In 1951, Roland Meinl started his company by creating cymbals using simple hand tools. Dowels Are Pre-Sorted For Greater Weight Consistency Square wooden dowels are the raw blanks that eventually become drumsticks. We pre-sort these dowels by weight and density before production begins, then assign them to specific models within the Meinl Stick & Brush line. Heavier, more dense dowels go to our Heavy models, while the lighter, less dense dowels are sorted to become our Big Apple jazz sticks or Standard 7A. This extra step we take in our process means that every pair of your favorite sticks will always feel the same. There are no light or heavy pairs of a certain model, only the weight you know and come to expect from your go-to pair.
