The wheel is made of solid cast iron for durability and load-bearing capacity and has a crimson red finish. The precision ball bearing comes lubricated and sealed and needs no greasing. The wheel has a load capacity of 1,000 lb., weighs 5 lb., and withstands temperatures from -40 to +320 degrees F. The hub length is 2-1/4".
Caster wheels are the rolling part of casters, which are wheeled mechanisms used to support and maneuver objects such as carts, racks, and dollies for material handling applications in many industries. Caster wheels may be single or dual (also called twin), and they are made from a variety of materials. Generally, wheels with hard tread material have a higher load capacity and roll easier than soft tread wheels, which provide quieter operation and cushioning.
Hamilton Caster manufactures industrial casters, wheels, carts, and trailers. The company, founded in 1907, is headquartered in Hamilton, OH.
