Applying Your Powder Foundation Use a synthetic and dense powder brush (preferably one with a shorter handle and a flat top) to give you better control of your powder makeup application. Dip the brush into the powder and shake off any excess before applying to your skin. Begin applying powder in small circular motions (starting inward and buffing out and upwards) and gently "buff" the powder into the skin for all over coverage. Check your coverage level after a minute or two (when the powder has had time to "warm" to your skin tone). If more coverage is desired, you can reapply to build the coverage you need.
