Concerned about Accuracy:

The most common reason for inaccuracy we find is due to the the thermometer sensor being extremely sensitive. Any dirt and/or oil will prevent an accurate measurement. Check and clean the sensor regularly. The surface should be reflective and gleaming. If it is dull and lackluster, please clean the sensor with a q-tip cotton swabs (preferably soaked with alcohol).

In order to avoid inaccuracy:

1. Please make sure that there is no dirt on the temperature sensor

2. Please use the thermometer indoors or in an environment where there is no strong air draft and let the thermometer settle in room temperature

3. Try to keep the subject stationary.

4. Make sure there isn’t any sweat, water or condensation on the forehead.

5. If the thermometer is transferred from an environment where the ambient temperature might be different, please wait 10 minutes before using the device

6. Before measuring temperature from an ear canal, remove earwax, if any.

7. Keep the ear canal clean

How to Measure the Forehead Temperature (Suitable for all ages)

Place the thermometer against one side of the forehead
Press the “Head” button and move the thermometer slowly across the forehead whilst holding down the button, you will hear several soft clicks
Release the “Head” button and take the thermometer off the forehead
Read the temperature from the screen

A fixed point measurement only may result in an incorrect temperature reading

EAR MODE

How to Measure the Ear Temperature (Suitable for >3 months)

Remove the sensor cover off the thermometer
Insert the probe inside the ear canal; you can pull the ear a little backwards for easier access
Press the “Ear” button only once, do not hold it down
After the beep, take the thermometer out of the ear and read the temperature from the screen

Temperature reading exceeding 37.5°C/99.5°F will automatically alert you by changing the display screen from GREEN to RED for 3 seconds whilst also having 7 short buzzing sounds. These are not loud enough to wake a sleeping baby, one can remove it off their forehead or ear immediately.

Please note an ear temperature is 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than a forehead temperature while a forehead temperature is usually 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) lower than an oral temperature.
