Award-Winning Designer, Peter Opsvik Norwegian designer Peter Opsvik spent his entire career studying what he calls ‘active sitting.’ None of us sit still – especially children – so how do we accommodate this need for movement while sitting? His philosophy is that children need a stable platform from which to move – so the child will sit actively and varied – but stay seated.	Active Sitting Peter Opsvik has been designing chairs for active sitting for over 40 years. In 1972, Peter Opsvik designed the Tripp Trapp Chair for his son, which brought his child up to the table, and brought the floor up to his child with an adjustable foot rest.	Nomi (2013) Fast forward to 2013 when Peter’s first granddaughter was born. Based on his 40 years of seating design experience, he knew he could do better. The result, the Nomi Chair. Nomi is the evolution of the original concept, utilizing more modern materials and technology, resulting in a sleeker design, making the daily use of the chair simpler.

When baby has grown a little stronger, you can begin to use a more upright position. This will give even better eye contact at the family table - and if your little one decides to suddenly take a nap, the chair is easily returned to almost horizontal position.
