How to Take Phenylalanine
As a dietary supplement, take 500mg (rounded 1/8tsp) one to three times daily between meals, or as directed by physician. It can take upwards of 4 weeks to notice the effects of phenylalanine.
Note: Do NOT take this supplement if you have phenylketonuria (PKU) or if you are nursing or pregnant. Do not take phenylalanine if you are on medications for mood disorders.
