What is psyllium husk?
Taken from the seeds of the self-fertile Plantago asiatica herb, psyllium is a soluble fiber known for its water solubility and absorption. When combined with water, it becomes a highly viscous, gel-like substance resistant to immediate digestion. Because of this, it is believed to help promote digestion and is frequently used as the main ingredient in most over-the-counter fiber supplements.
