How did you come up with the idea for this product?
I felt there had been little to no innovation in the diaper world for years—even the best still seemed stiff, bulky and soggy. As a parent, I knew babies would be happier if their diaper always felt drier, lighter and let them move freely because that’s what babies are wired to do. Parents today are active and always on the go...having a baby in tow doesn’t slow them down, and an inferior diaper shouldn’t either. I dedicated myself to inventing a modern diaper that would let parents and their babies adventure out in the world together with no worries or inconveniences. And while we were elevating performance, I wanted our diapers to be fun. Our parents go for style, not outdated nursery themes. So, we are always releasing trendy, new designs that dress (and protect) baby with a clever sense of fashion.
What makes your product special?
We are constantly traveling the world, meeting with engineers and challenging them to help us invent a diaper that is super-absorbent while still being super-soft and super-light. It is truly a challenge to achieve all three, but we have achieved it because we always want to make the impossible, possible. I say all of this in the present tense, because we will always be challenging ourselves to create the “next best” as more cutting-edge technology becomes available to us. If we ever skimp on quality, there is no need for Parasol to exist... the world already has enough diapers that do that.
What has been the best part of your experience?
The relationships we’ve developed with our customers, our own Parasol team and our global partners. As a passionate startup with a vision, we can be flexible and nimble, having conversations with our customers face-to-face and through surveys. We’re always tapping into their experiences so we can always be on the pulse of how we’re helping them and knowing what we can do better. We’ve developed a loyal customer following and can’t believe how quickly we’re growing with their love of the brand and the new parents they refer to us every day. Our company culture thrives with parents on our team who understand the ups, downs and joys of life with baby—we are our own little family. Our global partners are an important part of that family. We are relentless in finding the next new engineering that will continue to evolve a best-in-class diaper, to bring Parasol parents something truly unique. We truly have a global product, with materials and technology from the US, Korea, China, Japan, Israel and more. And that’s an important part of our culture, as well.
