A weighted blanket is a heavy blanket that provides gentle, even pressure, like a whole-body hug – creating a feeling of deep relaxation.
Who can use a weighted blanket?
Weighted blankets can be a powerfull tool for people who experience anxiety, restlessness, meltdowns, or who have trouble sleeping. Think of the soothing effects of swaddling a baby. Weighted blankets are not recommended for children under 3, and we recommend consulting a physician for anyone with a special healthcare need.
How do you choose the right weighted blanket?
Occupational therapists recommend that Weighted blankets be 5 - 10% of body weight plus a pound. Individual preferences for weight vary. Creature Commforts blankets are "Right Sized," so the recommended amount of weight is on the user, not laying beside him or her on the bed.

Removable cover, evenly-distributed weight
The cover is machine washable and dry-able. The liner can also be machine washed on gentle cycle, and dried in the dryer. It must be dried thoroughly. For blankets over 6 pounds, we recommend using a commercial laundry should the liner need to be washed.
Most weighted blankets contain poly pellets, glass or even metal! Ours are filled with organic millet, a 100% renewable, hypo-allergenic grain grown in the U.S.A. Millet grains are remarkably stable and can even be heated in the microwave. The fine grain of the millet provides an incomparable tactile sensory experience and conforms to every curve of the body, distributing the weight in a way no other weighted filler does.
The liner is made of 100% premium unbleached muslin. We sew the millet into individual pockets in the liner and the liner attaches to the cover with ties.
