Measuring Your Track Height Correctly is the most important step when getting a Sliding Glass Pet Door. While sliding glass doors tend to have similar height ranges not all Sliding Glass Doors are Standard heights. Endura Flap Sliding Panel Doors all have adjustment ranges to give you some leeway when measuring but it is still crucial you measure correctly.

For all Endura Flap Sliding Glass Door Panels when measuring you want to make sure you measure from the absolute lowest point inside the track, to the tallest point inside the track. Our panels work best with tracks like the one shown above, while they are less common monorail tracks exist which look like an upside down U with the sliding glass door sitting on top of it. Endura Flap Monorail Adapters are sold separately.

Measuring Your Pet

Measuring your pet's height correctly is crucial in ensuring you purchase a flap that your pet can comfortably use their entire life. You need to keep in mind how high off the ground the pet door will be installed, this space between the ground and the bottom of the flap is called the Step Over. The Step Over should be as low as possible for your dog to go through comfortably, this will make it easier for your pet as they get older.

The Distance from the Floor to the Top of the Flap should be at least 1" higher than the tallest point of your pets back.

Step Over + Flap Height = should be at least 1" higher than tallest point of pets back.

We recommend replicating the dimensions of your planned pet door installation on cardboard and seeing if your pet can comfortably go through it.
