With completely waterproof and compact design, you can place the water sensors anywhere you’d like to detect the water leakage, name each Wifi water sensor with its location on the cellphone APP like Sinks, Refrigerators, Dish Washers, Toilets, Washing Machine, Sump Pumps, Water HeatersPlug in the gateway into socket, connect the gateway with Wifi(NOT SUPPORT 5G WIFI) , you will get email, Push notifications and alert on your smartphone whether you’re at home or on the GO when water leakage happened. And the leakage record will be kept on the app for you to check anytime.

How to Connect the Water Leak Detectors to Your Phone?

1. Plug the WiFi gateway into socket, pull out the water sensors battery insulating tab
2. Download ‘Govee Home’ on App Store or Google Play to your cellphone
3. Open the app and sign up with your email account
4. Click the icon '+' at the top right corner and select H5040 device
5. Follow the app prompt to connect your WiFi Gateway with your router(not support 5G WiFi)
6. Place the water sensors on the detecting location. Name each water alert like Basements, Kitchen Sinks, Water Heaters
7. Get email, Push notifications and alert on your smartphone when leak happened

Note: the WiFi gateway and water sensor connecting distance is about 328FT(100M) in open air, the connecting distance in the house is normally about 164FT(50M)-262FT(80M).(Depend on your house structure) after connection set up, please test the water monitor with water on the leakage detecting place to see if your phone will get leak alert. If you can’t get alert, please check if it's connection distance problem and move the water on the proper location until you can get the alert

Troubleshooting:

①Why cannot connect the Water Leak Detector to Internet?

• Please make sure the WLAN switch is turn on. We recommend to use home WiFi
• Please note the app is NOT SUPPORT 5G WiFi, please try the 2.4G standard network and restart the router
• We recommend to connect your home WiFi and set it on the app. If APP ask you to connect " Govee_gateway_XXXX" WiFi, but you could not find, please check the gateway led is indicate slowly flash blue or not. If not, press the WiFi button for 3s.
• Please check the password of the home WiFi, if the password include any special symbols (eg: '=&<>"" {}), the phone app will not connect successfully. We recommend to change simple password.
• We recommend to turn on the GPS and Bluetooth for better locate the water leak detector devices

② I didn't Receive Push Notification?

• Check the App and Your Phone Setting: Open the device settings on the app to check if "receive information push" is turned on. Check if you allow ‘Govee Home’ app to push notification on the your smartphone settings.
• Check the signal strength of the WiFi: If the WIFI signal is too weak, the gateway cannot connect properly. Plug in the gateway closer to the router to make sure that a good WiFi signal is available.
