Signs need to be reflective and should comply with state regulations and federal rules. And at night, the inks need to be translucent and match day-time color values. Many competitive signs do not.

Laminate Extends Life

Laminated signs last longer. Our signs are easy to clean and last 10+ years outside. They withstand the scouring pad test.

In practice, unlaminated, digitally printed parking signs start to fade in 1-3 years. Unlaminated signs also cannot be cleaned and are susceptible to abrasion.

Mount Signs Onto a Post

Most handicapped parking signs are mounted onto 6’ or 8’ tall U-channel posts. An installed 8’ post gives you an 5’ clearance height (the distance between the sign and the ground) and this is common practice in many small lots. For a taller sign – when you see the sign over the sight lines of a car - use two overlapping 6’ posts.

Mount Signs on a Portable Base

When it is not practical to install a post, use a portable base. These heavy-duty cast iron bases can be positioned just where you need to reserve an accessible parking space. Portable bases are ideal for temporary use.

Base weighs 23.5 pounds and can withstand strong winds.

Mount Signs on a Chain Link Fence

Attach your accessible parking signs to a chain link fence. Innovative fence clip makes this easy. Clip grabs onto the wires and can be flexibly positioned.

Supplemental Sign

Add a sign underneath the handicapped parking sign to extend your message. Indicate if the space has sufficient space for the side door of a van to be used for access.
