ANCIENT ARTISTRY IN MODERN TIMES

This collection comes to us from a workshop outside of Florence. The inspiration for its organic shapes came easily, drawn from an ancient technique. In the 1300's, Italian peasants used unrefined glazes on their hand-thrown pottery that separated during firing, exposing the terra cotta edges of the pieces. The result was a collection of rustic shapes with exposed deckled edges. Today, Tuscan artisans recreate this look today by using a wax glaze to expose the terra cotta edges, as well as by continuing the tradition of hand-molding the ceramics.

When washing, please use a non-citrus, non-abrasive detergent on the air dry cycle. Do not overload the dishwasher. Hand washing is recommended for oversized items.
