Heavy-Duty Con-Tact Brand 'Surfaces'

To Clean: Wipe with damp cloth or sponge and mild soap.

To Remove: Begin at one corner and peel off. Peel at a 180 degrees angle to minimize effect on surface. Gentle heat from a hair dryer can help.

To Remove Residual Adhesive: Use rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol or household cleaners for tougher residue.

Shelves: If applying to shelving and its edge please allow at least 2-inch (5-centimeter) overlap for wrapping over and under shelf edge.

Corners: Cut slit in covering to allow overlap. Smooth one side down and around corner, then repeat with other side.

Round or Oval Objects: Allow at least 2-inch (5 centimeters) overlap all around. Notch at 1/2-inch (1.25-centimeters) intervals.

Bubbles: Simply puncture bubble with a pin and flatten. Smooth with a plastic straight edge.

Instructions For Use

1. Prepare Surface: Apply only to clean smooth surface. To clean, use soap and water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Products may not adhere to fabric, rough or pebbly surfaces or surfaces under 55°F (13°C). Porous surfaces should be sealed completely with enamel, shellac, urethane or similar product.

2. Measure and Cut: It is recommended to allow at least 3/8” (1cm) overlap on all edges for possible shrinkage.

3. Peel off Backing: When covering large areas, peel backing small sections at a time to make it easier to apply. Peel off backing evenly.

4. Apply: Beginning at the center, press out towards edge using squeegee, straight edge tool or cloth. Covering may be lifted and repositioned during application to eliminate bubbles or wrinkles. Avoid pulling or stretching. A hot gun can be a helpful tool when applying Con-Tact Brand 'Surfaces' over edges. Once liner is applied to the surface, wave the hot gun tool a couple inches from the liner where you will be folding over edges. This should only take a few seconds. Once Con-Tact 'Surfaces' liner has softened slightly, press firmly to edging for stronger adherence and easier application.
