DRAGONFLY 2 - The Dragonfly 2 upgrades features over the classic while keeping the important basics. Features carrying-over to the new version are the tried & tested mid-sized blade and ergonomic handle along with a front-finger choil and spine cusp.

FRN HANDLE - Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon is a polymer mixed with glass fiber then injection molded into formed and textured lightweight high-strength knife handles.

FULL-FLAT GRIND - This knife features a blade ground with flat bevels that extend from the spine all the way to the cutting edge. This grind reduces drag during cutting and decreases overall weight.

PLAINEDGE - A sharpened knife blade with no serrations or teeth sometimes referred to as a smooth blade.

The Dragonfly concentrates all the features of a full-sized folding knife into a compact, pocket-friendly cutting tool. Its pocket clip, Spyderco Round Hole and sturdy back lock mechanism provide convenient carry, one-handed operation and serious functionality. The refined ergonomics of the handle and textured index-finger choil provide a comfortable, secure grip with all sizes of hands and the flat-ground blade cuts with authority far beyond its size. The Dragonfly is available with several different handle choices, including stainless steel, foliage green G-10 with stainless liners, textured FRN, and even a “tattoo” version with etched, colorized artwork on stainless steel. High-performance VG-10 stainless steel is the standard blade steel for most versions.

A Bit About Spyderco

Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. Initially, the company focused on selling our first product—the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker —primarily at fairs and trade shows around the country.

In 1981, the Glessers put down roots in Golden, Colorado and introduced the first Spyderco folding knife. Deep-Pocket Wire Clip A clip made from formed heat-treated wire that is attached with a screw or barrel bolt. Some wire clips are designed for deep-pocket carry, while others position the knife higher and closer to the pockets edge.	VG-10 A high-carbon stainless steel produced by the Japanese firm Takefu. Also known as V-Kin-10, or literally “V Gold 10” ("gold" signifying quality), it is a very popular cutlery steel that is widely used in kitchen knives and other types of cutlery applications. VG-10 is an ingot steel with an alloy composition that offers an excellent balance of edge holding and corrosion resistance.

Constant Quality Improvement is a process Spyderco uses to evaluate and refine longstanding established knife models. Sometime C.Q.I. changes are large and noticeable, sometimes they're smaller refinements. Recently we applied C.Q.I. to the classic Dragonfly creating a new Dragonfly 2. The Dragonfly 2 upgrades some notable features over the classic while keeping the important basics. Features carrying-over to the new version are the tried and tested mid-sized blade and ergonomic handle along with a front-finger choil and spine cusp. Also staying is the blade-to-handle geometry and leveraging points which make the Dragonfly cut and feel like a much larger large knife when in the hand. New refinements include: the addition of a left/right tip-up wire clip, patented Bi-Directional Texturing on the handle, choil and spine jimping and screw together handle construction. The blade is still premium VG-10, now in a high-performance flat-grind with a PlainEdge or SpyderEdge. The position of the enlarged Spyderco Round Opening Hole in relation to the pivot leads to smooth opening and the FRN (fiberglass reinforce nylon) handle fits the hand ergonomically with a series of grip angles and leveraging spots.
