The SmartlockPro Triple Protection Advantage
4. Auto-Monitoring:
By conducting an internal test to confirm that the GFCI is providing protection, the SmartlockPro Self-Test GFCIs offer an added layer of protection from electrical shocks due to hazardous ground-faults.
If, during a self-test, the GFCI detects a problem, one or more of the following will occur:
- Power will be denied (trip with the inability to reset).
- Trip with the ability to reset, subject to the next auto-monitoring test cycle or repeatedly trip.
- Visual and/or audible indication (Audible indication with the Leviton GFTA1/GFTA2 Audible Self-test GFCI).
5. Patented Reset Lockout:
The Reset Lockout feature prevents the GFCI from being reset if it is damaged and cannot respond to a ground fault. Older model GFCIs may allow reset even if they are no longer providing protection. In addition, power will be denied if the line and load wires are reversed during installation.
6. LED Indicators:
LED indictors on the device face provide simple, intuitive feedback on power and protection status.
Ruggedly Designed for Outdoor Use
Leviton Weather-Resistant SmartlockPro Self-Test GFCIs are UL Listed to comply with the National Electrical Code which mandates all receptacles in exterior locations carry a 'Weather-Resistant' rating. Built with UV stabilized engineering thermoplastic for high cold impact resistance, the WR GFCI devices feature stainless steel straps and mounting screws, as well as a conformal coated PC board to protect critical components from moisture. The code also requires all outdoor outlets to be enclosed by weather resistant covers to further protect them from the elements. Leviton carries a variety of outdoor outlet covers in different colors and configurations.
Built to Last with Advanced Technology
Designed to provide years of reliable performance, the SmartlockPro Self-Test GFCI withstands high torque, resists wire pullout and has a standard brass self-grounding clip. Additionally, its trip threshold meets or exceeds UL requirements for tripping time, and its electronics design provides strong resistance to electrical surges and over-voltages.
